Dear Friends,
Week 1 on The Lady Nudge was awesome! Your support means the world, and to say thank you, I hope you enjoy this fun playlist! These songs are easy to download on Youtube.com, Apple Music, and your favorite music app.
Among the many blessings God gave us humans, one connects us all ― music. Though broad and encompassing, music touches us differently. In the words of Plato, "Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." A song can take you back to your childhood, be your gym anthem, remind you of pleasant memories, open your heart to praise and reassure you of God's promises.
Excitingly, researchers have found that music shapes and reflect our moods and form our memories of places and experiences (Leah Maxwell).
When used as therapy, music is a low-risk treatment, thereby having no side-effects (healthline.com).
For example, "For your Glory" by Tasha Cobbs Leonard makes me want God's presence, even more, the "Game of Thrones Medley" by 2Cellos and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Lindsey Stirling makes me feel like I invented airplanes (trust me, I could have been easily a research assistant to the Wright brothers, you never know!).
Y'all know there are some exceptional songs out there, so I'll give a few. I hope my favorite songs make these uncertain times easier, fill you joy, and teach you to embrace life's little moments!
Here goes...Enjoy!
1. "Way Maker" (Live From Passion 2020) feat. Kristian Stanfill, Kari Jobe & Coby Carnes: Honey, this song right here, puts you right at the foot of Jesus no matter where you are.
2. "Trust in You" by Anthony Brown & group therapy: Feeling down or heavy from the lockdown?! This will change that from the very first word.
3. "Good & Loved" by Travis Greene and Steffany Gretzinger: Hellur, who doesn't have Uncle T on their playlist?! The conversation-like arrangement of this song between God and his beloved reassures us of God's promises.
4. "Stand Up" (from Harriet) by Cynthia Erivo: Cynthia's voice is like red velvet cake (my fav!!) plus Harriet is a beyond impressive film, you would love it too. This song oozes hope and girl power!
If you feel eclectic, then you'll like this;
5. "Symphony" by Switch and Dillon Chase: The musical arrangement of this piece is timeless, in addition to the excellent message it feeds your soul with.
I'd like to hear about the other sumptuous songs you have on your 2020 playlist in the comments section below.
As always, I hope every word, story, and memory that these songs create for you will nudge to keep soaring through life.
Allow yourself the grace to grow, blossom, and uplift someone else! Recognize your fears, and do you anyway!
Please, wash your hands, sanitize, cough in your elbows, clean your doorknobs and light switches, touch not your face, and stay at home! Stay safe! We'll get through this!
Love & Peace,
The Lady Nudge.
